A growing Retail Footgear company is searching for an achiever with high energy levels and a passion for business success, who is task driven, a problem solver, with attention to detail and handling of pressure, is expected from the prospective candidates.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Duties include but will not be limited to:
- Review and reconcile the fixed asset register to the general ledger
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, ensuring that reconciling items are constantly monitored and actioned.
- Manage the banking reconciliation team, reviewing and ensuring all variances are addressed.
- Manage monthly closing process, including reconciliations and analysis of related accounts, computation and processing of monthly journals.
- Calculate and submission of monthly VAT 201 returns
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
- Monitor, review and implement internal financial controls across the business
- Preparing audit support schedules for the year-end audit and interacting with external auditors
- Prepare IFRS16 lease calculations and schedules for the audit
- Assist with the annual tax schedules
- Reviewing of weekly and monthly payments
- Reviewing and/or preparing of insurance claims
- Preparing monthly management pack reports, including comparisons and explanations for significant variations between budget and actuals
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Lead and manage the finance team, providing guidance, motivation and mentorship
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree B.Com (with Accounting) / BCompt or equivalent
- Completed SAICA/SAIPA Articles
- Minimum 2-3 years post-article experience are essential.
Experience:
- Retail Industry experience(preferred)
- Advance Excel skills (essential)
- Experience with Sage X3 ERP would be advantageous.
- Familiar with the latest IFRS knowledge (essential)
